FFFFFFUUUUU
I went to the sci lounge today and it looks just as closed as last week, but maybe a little less so.
Seriously wtf?
A couple things:
1) I feel like the SSA should have a way to inform us what's going on. I don't know if they realize how important to our community it is that we hold regular events and not keep people in the dark about when/where we are meeting. I understand that construction happens and sometimes it takes an amount of time that you don't know in advance. I also realize it's not their job to tell everybody and anybody all things, all the time. I dunno, kind of feels like I'm ranting but I think there is something to think about and learn from this.
2) This is just wishful thinking, but it's not like they are actually using the sci lounge space. It's just one plastic tube that is running from the front door to the back door. So I don't see why we couldn't still hold a gathering there, as long as we had permission and don't touch the tubes. But I know it's probably a "construction zone" and doesn't work like that.
Conclusion: Someone should talk to the SSA. I will send a friendly email, just as a student, asking when they expect the construction to be done. I dunno if someone else wants to talk to them, or have there number or something...
ssa@umsu.ca if anyone's interested.
