All right its 2:43AM and I'm still at baselan.  I'll be here for a while.  Shane, Andrew, and Tyler are still playing SF4 along with my friends, Left 4 dead I believe is still going on and people are slowly starting to file out.

Its been a pretty long day and I wouldn't trade it in for anything, except for my fiance.

First off I have to thank the two biggest contributers to making todays event a success.  Matt and Shane.  Matt, I really appreciate you running the SF4 bracket for me.  I thought it was well spread out.  Shane as usual thanks for making the effort and putting up the money to bring out equipment and recording the matches.  Makes our jobs a lot easier with you doing that.  As for the other staff usual staff members that were there (Tyler and James), I hope you enjoyed not having to do too much but bring some equipment to setup.  Cause we'll be busy as shit come TST time.  Jayse you know we love you and really appreciate the work you do, but you know we have to give you a hard time about it.  Quit being a bitch and tell your sisters off, I told you to offer them TS :p

Anyways onto the others.  To the smashers, we keep doing this game for you guys and you always put on a good show.  I honestly hope the game doesn't die here and maybe we get some more new players soon.  I love hosting this stuff for you and you guys will always have my support.  Wilson you're too much of a bully now.  If only you could travel around to other tournaments, I think you can easily become one of the best in Canada, same goes for you Russel.  You guys have the potential to be the best players around.  You guys have the full support of the guys in the overal scene here.

Janos its always fun watching you play.  Your mannerisms the dumb shit you talk, its fun to see.  Keep on playing anything that we do cause its a pleasure to have you around.

The rest of the smash players keep playing, we used to rely on you guys bringing out numbers.  I have very fond memories of running the 40 man smash tournaments at baselan.  No matter how long I know they will take I always enjoy doing it.  The numbers are slowly starting to die down but I hope you guys keep the passion alive and bring the overal smash scene to another level.

Now to the Street fighter players.  This was a real pleasure.  I think the tournament ran very smoothly and there were a lot of great matches.  James thanks for bringing the hype and hyping things up, I don't think there was anyone better to do it.  I was honestly expecting more from you, I hope the discussion at Smittys will help bring your game to a new level.

Shane, you're a beast.  I don't think theres much else that can't be said.  We are very fortunate to have you here and I truley believe that the main reason I do so well at the game is cause of my drive to beat you.  I think we had the best match of the tournament and I learned a lot.

Kevin and Simon, you guys are newcomers to the scene and don't worry about the heckling we yell at you guys.  Especially Kevin, we heckled you a lot during the tournament but keep using sagat. We hate on it but its all in good fun.  We have respect for everyone who comes out and supports the scene.  Congrats to Kevin for finishing so 3rd.  I'll get you back for beating me with that bullshit though.  I don't think I've ever been more pissed than during those matches.

Jo, I dunno how you do it but pretty much every game you've taken part of(except smash) you beast in it.  You came close to being the first guy to beat Shane in tournament.  Your gief is coming along very nicely.  Your ryu was impressive.  From what I've been told you and your crew have been around since the scenes revial a few years ago.  I hope you guys keep coming out and keep beasting.  I'll have to play you guys more instead of hoping to meet you guys in tournament.  Cause I rarely get matches against you guys.  Except Mark I've gotten a lot of matches against you over the years.

To everyone else, the scene has made a lot of progress and I'm very proud of how much better everyone is getting.  I know there will be different names in top 8 soon.  Keep coming out and playing with us.  I love Street fighter but  the best part of it is making friends, hanging out, talking shit.  We all love Street Fighter but it wouldn't be the same without the stuff I stated earlier.  I've met some awesome people and had some great memories over the past few years.  I sometimes wish I were around during the hayday of street fighter but the scene we have now is great and I couldn't really ask for more.

I'll close off by saying that we do this cause its our passion and without the co-operation of everyone things wouldn't run as smooth as they would.  The only thing I ask for is some thanks for the hard that the staff here and the baselan staff has put in.  The baselan staff does a lot of stuff for us you guys don't know about.  If anyone has any problems with how things were done today let us know so we can make things even better.

All I gotta say is BEST TOURNEY EVER!

TST 3 was awesome, but I think this Baselan outdid it in hype, excitement and fun. Thanks to all the staff and players who make that happen. Hopefully SF4 will get even bigger and help make the next tourney legendary.

While I wasn't really pleased with my end result on how I played, it all comes back to the whole "You win some, you lose some" stuff. The main reasons I lost were pointed out by Shane (which I'm now pretty much going to practice and I also need to watch those vids you suggested, links please!  Grin). Good stuff to Jozel and Kyle for getting me out of the tournament.

I sometimes hate our tournaments at BaseLAN simply because I've worked on EVERY Saturday they've had it and yesterday was no different, I was so frustrated at work, it came along for the tournament. Caused me to forget too (Which is part of the inconsistency, meaning that I have to practice on that too).

I guess I was kind of late on the Smash tournament, but you guys apparently just showed up and rocked the house. I'm surprised to see some old faces come back to play it (That means you Alex, you fucking biter on my Nice Guy stuff)

There's so much I have to thank though in terms of this tournament:

- To the staff at BaseLAN, thanks for hosting us yet again and with a super hype game none the less, I hope no one was annoyed by our antics, but that's how we roll

- To the staff of Chipdamage, minus Jayse Tongue, Matt showed that he can run the brackets properly and even seed us properly too (except for that one time with the Double Jeopardy), thanks for running it man. Duong for being the typical loudmouth and rubbing salt in everyone's wounds, and for being on the BaseLAN staff to get us here. Tyler "TS" Sanderson, for being part of Team Rant and showing all them motha fuckas who is the boss!

- To everyone who showed up for SFIV, thank you for showing up and beasting through the day, thanks for supplying consoles, monitors, recording equipment, and just things I can yell about. If you don't like the hype, then you won't like it when TST rolls around, I'll be back to bring the hype yet again.

Great tournament everyone!

Officially my first REAL tourney and I had a real good time, everything was run smoothly. I learned a lot of things that I will include into my game. And hey, 17th in a tourney with 35 entrants is not too bad right??...right??(James and I are too cool for you suckas anyway!)

The pressure of tournament play still gets to me though, I know my character match-ups fairly well, but when I sit down to play at a tourney, it all goes out the window. Forgetting how to punish certain things, messing up execution of moves, putting myself in situations that Vega really has no business being in, panicking when I lose one round in a match then taking dumb chances, just generally playing like a complete noob.  I guess learning how to deal with that tourney pressure is what makes a tournament level player.

I am starting to understand the mindset you need in a tournament environment, the "get hype" attitude seemed to help me a little, instead of taking your loss as "meh, oh well" ,get a little angry, take it seriously, up your game, you know you have it in you just do it!!

All in all a good time, now to get busy and practice hard for TST, my goal is to get at least top 12, thinking of picking up a serious 2nd character, not dropping Vega, just a character that has a little less shortcomings to deal with.

Awesome tourney guys.

A big shout out to Matt, Duong and Shane for allowing the tourney to run as smooth as possible (Matt running brackets, Duong - setups, Shane video and A/V). It was a really good time and despite how I look after I lose a match ( a.k.a about to kill something) it was a really good time. Seems like the new blood has really stepped up there game (John F. , Simon, Kyle T to name a few) so things are going to be exciting.

Another big shout out to all the competitors that showed up to the tourney. With out you guys, there basically is no tourney! Hopefully you guys had fun and will come out to the future events.

Thanks to Baselan for allowing us to use the space for the tourney. Always a good time every year.

Another thank you to Matt, for killing me in the BBall challenge. My knees haven't recovered, I expect a week of pain. The hate resumes now.... Angry lol jk. But I guess the karma card was drawn when you found out Honda j. HP >>>>>> Dhalsims Super Inferno.

Good games everyone! Hope to see you again.

Great games everyone!

As this was my first major tournament I have to say it was a lot of fun. There were a lot of great players and plenty of great games to be played. Thanks to everyone that made it possible! Looking forward to the next one!

Yesterday was too awesome.

I also believe that this was probably the most fun tournament we've done yet.  Lots of hype and a lot of intense matches.  It's really great seeing how well the scene is willing to come together and put on these tournaments.  Can't wait to see you all again at the next one.

The lack of Cammy and Guile in those results is disturbing. Sucks I had to work. Watched the vids, they were good stuff.

Think I lost the fire again though since after Evo... or maybe I'm just missing Vegas too much T_T. Either way, there's areas of opportunity.

Quick thanks to the following people:

- AYB for allowing us to set up tournaments and gain more exposure with people who might not have seen us otherwise. Special thanks to the guy who took the mike from me shortly after I used it to say "Counterstrike sucks", you probably saved me from death by a mob of 15 year olds.
- All of staff for volunteering their equipment/time/sisters, covering for me when I needed it, giving the Smashers another good tournament, and letting me bounce decisions/etc off you guys.
- Shane for bringing all of his equipment, his A-game and uploading the videos. GameFAQs will hate us more than ever now.
- Steffan for hacking SF4 and agreeing to that MM despite being drunk at the time it was proposed; I'm calling the game next time you grab your knee like that, though.
- Everybody who stuck around for Final 8 and brought the hype. Bring it to TST as well.
- All the people who signed up, patiently waited for their matches, and put up with our heckling and general tomfoolery.

Great tournament and looking forward to seeing how far our scene comes for TST.

AWESOME Tournament!! Despite this being my 2nd major tournament (counting the very first launch tourney) I have never had so much fun playing sf4 or even games i totally suck in (smash)...lol... and yes very BIG thanks for Duong, Matt, and Shane for doing all the background "stuff" that nobody ever really appreciates Tongue . And also very big thanks to all the "support" i got for me playing with sagat! haha it really does help...no I'm dead serious! But this was definitely such a wonderful gaming experience, I am totally stoked for the next major tournament that's coming up shortly! Again, thanks for everything and hope to see everyone at the next tourney! Peace!!

I'm sorry that I couldn't make it to BaseLAN.  I came down with the flu Friday night and could not get up at all on Saturday.  Talk about bad timing... it sounded awesome though and I wished I was there Sad
